Printing with Objects
6 PMLD students aged from 12 to 17 used objects with different textures or filled with different textures to print paint onto figures for a classroom display inspired by Keith Haring. They also created the background black paint dabbing brushes in a rhythm.
Street Art and Hopscotch
The project was split into several lessons. At the beginning the pupils got some information about Keith Haring We created some colorful Keith Haring paintings on the break court in front of our school. There are now two big paintings, where the children can do hop-games. The other paintings show typical school subjects like art.
Painting on Aluminum Foil
A fun project where kids paint Haring figures on aluminum foil.

Keith Haring's art places a lot of impact on shape and colour. This lesson enables learners to see the imact of colour within an artwork.
Haring Mobiles
This lesson was sent to us by a school in New Jersey whose students designed and constructed their own Haring-inspired hanging mobiles. A great extension to lessons involving the figure and movement.
Subway Art
A great starting point for a large scale project, this lesson uses simple materials, and optimizes their boldness and beauty. Inspired by Haring's early graffiti work in the subways of NYC, these students took off with their own innovative and creative ideas.
Posters with a Message I
Offering students the possibilities to express their thoughts and concerns, this project outlines a structure to help students make public posters with important messages in a bold and straightforward manner, similar to some of the work Haring did during his lifetime.
Banners with a Message II
Using the "Posters with a Message" Lesson as a starting point, this project allows students to exhibit their work publicly and address the related concerns of presentation and observation.
Kindergarten Mural
Small groups of students danced to music in the hallway, while tracing their bodies in movement poses on colored paper. They were cut out, glued onto one large sheet of paper, and outlined in black paint to brighten up our school hallway.
Street Art Project
A low-budget, exciting way to explore the function and creative process of public art while gaining a deeper understanding of Haring's work.
